Out today! Demons & Ramen is a darkly fun, supernatural thriller that’s not to be missed, according to bestselling author Brian Keene, who says it will appeal to “fans of John Constantine, Anita Blake and Harry Dresden.”

A.M. Loweecey’s tale of church intrigue, deadly lies, and thousand year old ghosts with a penchant for take-out centers on exorcist Denis Kaine. He’s known throughout the circles of Hell as a demon’s worst nightmare. And when his beloved twin brother Xavier is killed and the Vatican rules his death a suicide, he becomes the Church’s worst nightmare, too.

There’s no way his brother would kill himself. The church is covering something up. Denis aims to find out what and why, no matter the cost.

Fueled by grief, whiskey, and a reckless disregard for his own survival, Denis’s journey is going just as one might expect as he descends into the dark underbelly of Rome, exorcising every creature that slithers up from Hell to get in his way. His search takes an unexpected turn when he stumbles upon a sealed crypt and unleashes something far older and more powerful than anything he’s ever faced. And just when he thinks he’s got the upper hand, he realizes it followed him home.

Someone knocked at the door.

On a Sunday afternoon? If it was a Girl Scout, she’d be disappointed. My liquid income consisted of the twelve dollars and three quarters in my wallet. I pulled off the Roman collar so she wouldn’t get a bad impression of priests in general and unbolted the door.

It crashed open with a blue-green-flowery gust of wind. I spun around and slammed it shut. My messenger bag was within arm’s reach on the kitchen table. All I had to do—

“It is ridiculously cold outside. Where is your fireplace?”

This tall, black-haired female intruder strode into my living room. “Are you a herder of reindeer that you can stomach this cold without a fire? I require heat, coffee, and food.”

Her flowered dress looked more suited to August than early April. Her windblown hair reached below her waist, the overhead light striking midnight-blue highlights from it. The colors of her energy reminded me of something I couldn’t place.

“Look, whoever you are, I didn’t invite you here.” I opened the door, which put me even nearer to my messenger bag. “Out.”

She laughed.

Suddenly, Denis finds himself with a thousand year old ghost as an unwanted roommate. And after a thousand years, she’s damn hungry.

A seaweed-colored tentacle snaked through my keyhole and snapped open the deadbolt. The door opened on my insistent houseguest, whose arms holding the grocery bag appeared human again. “You squashed the bread.”

She might eat him out of house and home. She also might be exactly the partner in crime he needs to get to the bottom of what happened to his brother.
