Epic’s Authors

Elias Anderson was born in the wastelands of south-eastern Montana in the late 70s before his family moved to Colorado, where they bounced around the state for the next 21 years. He relocated again to California, then Oregon, only to settle back in Denver with his family.

Publisher’s Note: We were saddened to learn in March of 2023 that Elias Anderson was killed in a car accident in Aurora, Colorado. He will be forever missed and fondly remembered by the EP staff.

Kira Blackwood has written many things under many names. The Mirrors by Which I End the World is her first major work under this one. She’s also died at least once, maybe four or five times, depending on who you ask. Her work is as unapologetic and weird as she is. Don’t ask her about raising pet chickens unless your schedule’s clear. When she isn’t writing, she can be found in cold places, the gym, or honking at geese.

A Southerner of French Huguenot extraction, one of Tony-Paul de Vissage’s first movie memory is of being six years old, viewing the old Universal horror flick, Dracula’s Daughter on television, and being scared sleepless. That may explain his lifelong interest in vampires and why he’s now paying back his too-permissive parents by writing about those who walk the night.

A voracious reader whose personal library has survived following their owner’s more than 3,000 miles across country, Tony-Paul has read hundreds of vampire tales and viewed more than as many movies. Readers may discover more about this author at his Facebook page or on Twitter.

J. Donnait is a Toronto-born boy who loves to play hockey, video games, and watch the same chunk of movies over and over again so that he can quote them endlessly (and accurately) to his annoyed group of friends. He also lives to make scary and weird things up for you, cool reader, to enjoy. According to him, “Thank my mom and her supply of toys for any imagination I possess.”

Gerry Griffiths lives in San Jose, California with his family and their four rescue dogs, plus a cat that thinks their house is a bed-and-breakfast. He is a Horror Writers Association member. He has over thirty published short stories in various anthologies and magazines, as well as a twenty-two short story collection entitled Creatures. He is the author of Silurid, The Beasts on Stoneclad Mountain, Down from Beast Mountain, Terror Mountain, Cryptid Zoo, Cryptid Island, Cryptid Country, Death Crawlers, Deep in the Jungle, The Next World, and Battleground Earth.

Cameron Scott Kirk has published many short stories, won a Best of Fiction award, and is the author of The Mad Trinkets, which has been adapted to audiobook narrated by the amazing voice artist Alister Austin. He has been known to slay dragons, fight off invading aliens, and match the hardiest dwarf in a drinking competition. When he’s not doing that, he’s writing about it. Cameron lives with his wife Penny and daughter Cody, an aspiring storybook author and illustrator in her own right.

A.M. Loweecey lives in New York with their dog Zeus, who will happily tell you he’s the more photogenic half of the duo. He also wishes A.M. would learn to dictate their stories to make walks around the neighborhood last longer, rather than spending so much time at their desk. When A.M. isn’t on walks with Zeus or finding new ways to scare the pants off readers, they’re working in the garden, where A.M. endeavors to grow the perfect tomato.

Brian Keene calls A.M. Loweecey’s Demons & Ramen: “a fun occult detective romp”.

Q Parker is a transgender novelist and screenwriter from a forgotten corner of New Jersey. Their fiction has been published in many venues under many names. Any time not working or writing is usually spent laughing at the worst scary movies Netflix can offer.
